What’s Coming to Netflix: 7 to 13 October 2019

There is little dispute that the most exciting release coming up this week is EL Caminho, the new Breaking Bad movie the follows Jessie Pinkman in the aftermath of the final season of the show. Breaking Bad fans may break the internet when this lands on October 11th. The new season of Insatiable comes in a close second and will land on the same day. This tale of teenage revenge has become a phenomenon in its own right.

This week also sees Netflix release some great Halloween content to help get us in the mood. Haunted is back for a second season of real-life encounters with the supernatural. Spanish film La Influencia also promises to keep viewers up at night.

Music lovers will also be excited about Rhythm + Flow, Netflix’s own music reality TV show on which Cardi B and others looks for the next big rap talent.

Match! Tennis Juniors (Season 1) – 7 October

This new Chinese series focuses on a young tennis prodigy trying to exceed in tennis while navigating the challenges of high school.

The Water Diviner (2014)

This drama starring Russell Crowe follows an Australian farmer who goes to Turkey shortly after World War I to find his three sons that never returned.

Dean Cole: Cole Hearted (Comedy Special) – 8 October

This is the first comedy special from the Chicago-based comedian. He finds the funny in everyday struggles, and his own awkwardness.

Rhythm + Flow (Season 1) – 9 October

Netflix is finally launching their own music competition series, this time looking for the next rap talent. Cardi B., Change the Rapper and T.I. feature as judges and mentors.

Ultramarine Magmell (Anime) – 10 October

Set on a mysterious, newly formed continent, a MacGyver type character sets about rescuing other explorers.

Haunted (Season 2) – 11 October

This reality series sees real people sit down with their loved ones and tell stories of their encounters with the paranormal and supernatural.

Insatiable (Season 2) – 11 October

The popular but controversial series is back with our female high school protagonists who finds popularity when she looses a significant amount of weight, but goes about looking to get revenge on everyone who treated her badly before.

La Influencia (2019) – 11 October

In this Spanish film, a nurse returns home to look after her ill mother, and rediscover the dark forces that haunted her childhood.

The Awakening of Motti Wolkenbruch (2019) – 11 October

This Swiss comedy focusses on a young Orthodox Jewish man who falls for a woman outside his religion, and must figure out how to pursue what he wants, while pleasing his family.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019) – 11 October

Aaron Paul is back as Jesse Pinkman of Breaking Bad renown, as we see what happens to him after he escapes from the captivity in which he found himself at the end of the series.

The Forest of Love (2019) – 11 October

This Japanese horror film follows a young group of film makers who are convinced to make a movie about an old trickster, only to themselves get caught up in his web.

Fractured (2019) – 11 October

Sam Worthington stars in the psychological thriller about a man who takes his daughter to hospital, but then discovers that she has disappeared, and is told that she never in fact existed. He must get to the bottom of the mystery to save his family, or his sanity.

PLAN COEUR (Season 2) – 11 October

Season one of this French comedy sae a group of women set up their friend with a male escort to help her get back into the dating game. How will their relationship mature following the revelations of the finale?

Banlieusards (2019) – 12 October

Three brothers on the streets of France struggle to keep their heads above water on the hard streets. Can the family save their youngest brother from following their path into a life of crime.
