What’s Coming to Netflix This Week: 27 August – 1 September 2019

As August comes to an end and we jump into September, here is everything new that is hitting Netflix this week!

Tuesday 27 August

Million Pound Menu (Season Two)

Season two of this foodie favourite is back. A whole new group of restaurant entrepreneurs will try and convince the jury that their restaurant has what it takes to cut it in the cut-throat world of dining.

Trolls: The Beat Goes On! (Season Seven)

Something new for the kids, this popular Dreamwork show is back for its seventh season. Expect more glitter fights and tickle matches that will keep the kids entertained for at least a few hours.

Thursday 29 August

Falling Inn Love

Always dreamed of completely transforming your life, this is exactly what Christina Milian’s character does in this romantic comedy. Milan, a city girl, wins a rustic New Zealand Inn, and she decides to leave the life she knows behind in order to do up the inn and sell it. When she gets there, she enlists the help of a local contractor, played by Adam Demos. Despite their differences, love is in the air.

Kardec

Thie Brazilian film tells the story of Allen Kardec, and his significant contribution to the spiritist codification. Produced by Wagner de Assis and starring Leonardo Medeiros as the titular character, it offers an entertaining and educational insight into the religious movement.

Workin’ Moms (Season Three)

Catherine Reitman, Jessalyn Wanlim, Dani Kind and Juno Rinaldi are back as our favourite Canadian moms. Often characterised as showing the lives of moms on too much stark reality, make sure to watch after the kids have gone to bed.

Friday 30 August

The A List

Sure to be our newest guilty pleasure, this teen drama is set at an idyllic summer camp, where queen bee and now guidance counsellor Mia’s perfect life quickly turns into a nightmare, and she must solve the mystery. This show is sure to appeal to fans of Pretty Little Liars.

Carole & Tuesday

This new anime series from Shinichiro Watanabe is set in the future on a partially terraformed Mars where teenager Tuesday lives with her posh family. Unhappy with her life, she runs away to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. On the way, she meets Carole, another aspiring musician, and the two decide to work together.

August 30th

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (Season 1)

Fans of the classic Jim Henson puppet film (1982), that became available on Netflix in May, will quickly find themselves binging this new series. A prequel, we will be revisiting our favourite characters and learning more about their back stories.

Droppin’ Cash (Season Two)

My Super Sweet Sixteen for adults, this show follows the ridiculously wealthy as they drop cash on crazy stuff we didn’t even know money could buy.

La Grande Classe

A school reunion brings out the inner teenagers in these two best friends in this French comedy. They set out to flaunt their success and show their high school bullies and crushes just how far they have come, but will things go as planned. A new twist on The Hangover theme.

Locked Up (Season Three)

Spain’s version of Orange is the New Black is back with its third season. While this show will appeal to fans of the American program, this is far from a copy. A darker thriller than its American counterpart, you will be binging to see what happens to our heroine.

Might Little Bheen (Season Two)

Put the kids in front of the screen for a few hours with this new season of the Indian anime series. It follows an innocent, but super string toddler on his adventures around the Indian town.

Styling Hollywood (Season One)

This may be your new reality TV secret. Couple Jason Bolden and Adair Curtis are Hollywood stylists working for Hollywood A listers such as Gabriel Union and Ava DuVernay. The show couples touching glimpses of the couple’s relationship with a look at the glam lives of the rich and famous.

True and the Rainbow Kingdom: Wild Wild Yetis (Special Season)

This popular American cartoon is back with a new special. If you aren’t already familiar with the show it follows 8-year-old True and her cat Bartleby as they help the citizens of the Rainbow Kingdom through the power of wishes.

Un Bandido Honorado (Season One)

After a near death experience, one drug lord gets a completely new perspective on life and decides to try and make up for his past sins. A comedy with heart, the path to redemption is always complicated.

Saturday 31 August

Luo Bao Bei (Season One)

This Chinese animated series follows the adventures of Luo Bao Bei, a seven-year-old girl with a vivid animation that she uses to try and understand the world around her. As reality mixes with fantasy and dream, the show has a distinctively surreal feeling.

Sunday 1 September

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season Six)

Our favourite members of the Marvel universe are back! But what will they do without Coulson and May, and are they really gone?

Serial Killer with Piers Morgan (Season One)

Whether you are a Piers Morgan fan or not, you’ll likely enjoy seeing him go head to head with some of the world’s most infamous serial killers as he tries to delve into the mind of true evil.

The Walking Dead (Season Nine)

The zombie apocalypse continues with yet one more season of this hugely popular show. If you missed it on AMC find out what happens in the aftermath of the All Out War and the defeat of Negan.
