Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams to star in Netflix comedy ‘Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga’

Netflix has once again outdone itself. The acquisition of Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams in a new comedy is the perfect mix of weird and just outright funny. Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is a pretty long title but I can assure you that when Netflix released the first clip of the comedy, judgment just gets thrown at the window. First of all, it gives out a big Game of Thrones-esque energy. Second of all, the combination of Ferrell and Adams isn’t quite what we expected, but it’s what we all needed to fill in the shoes of the musical duo to compete for the Eurovision song contest.

Netflix shared the clip in their ANZ Twitter account on Saturday. As it stands, ‘Volcano Man’ is up there with songs of The Beatles. The song is a fictional song submitted by Lars Ericsson (get it?), played by Will Ferrell, and Sigrit Eiriksdottir, played by Rachel McAdams, or widely known as the Fire Saga. Guys, the fact that they were performing those while in some glamorous Viking gear in an Icelandic environment is pretty wild. It’s a whacky music video, to say the least––but it encapsulates pretty well what the comedy is really about. If you told that Ferrell and McAdams will be collaborating to perform under these circumstances with what I might say is an epic music video, I’d tell you that you’re bonkers.

Per Netflix, the official synopsis for Eurovision Song Contest goes a little something like this:
“When aspiring musicians Lars and Sigrit are given the opportunity of a lifetime to represent their country at the world’s biggest song competition, they finally have a chance to prove that any dream worth having is a dream worth fighting for.”

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is set to debut on the 26th of June and we’re absolutely ready for anything.
